About This Practice
ParraCoeus is a sole proprietorship—one principal engineer doing hands-on AWS platform work. No team, no subcontractors. Just direct, accountable engineering.
The name derives from "Parra" (Parramore, the principal's last name) and "Coeus" (the Titan associated with intellect and foresight)—reflecting the practice's commitment to thoughtful engineering and deliberate design.
What I Do
I design, build, and operate complete production systems on AWS—from initial architecture through long-term ownership. This includes event-driven or message-based backends, backend services and APIs, data models with persistent storage, internal admin tools, operator interfaces, and client-facing portals. Supporting infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, and observability are built in from day one.
Engagements are typically structured as hourly or monthly retainers to support evolving scope and long-term system ownership. You get the flexibility to scale up or down as priorities change.
Who I Work With
My clients are typically CTOs, engineering managers, and senior engineers at startups and mid-sized companies who need reliable AWS infrastructure but don't have the bandwidth or expertise in-house.
I'm a good fit if you value transparency, documentation, and maintainable infrastructure over quick hacks and vendor lock-in. You'll work directly with me—the same person who designs, builds, and operates your systems.
